Overweight how to lose thigh fat

Not looking your best? Feeling a little "frumpy" around the thighs, these days? Genetic Disposition is one of the primary reasons why you accumulate body fat on your thighs. The most basic reason for your current body shape is your DNA. If you do nothing your whole life, if you simply "live" without concern for diet or exercise your genetics will play a large, uncontrolled role in how your body "shapes" up (pardon the pun).

Yes, while it is true that you cannot alter your genes, there are still things that you can do to get rid of thigh fat.

A little disclaimer: It is still possible that you may struggle to get rid of the fat on your thighs, even if you follow an excellent workout regimen and remain active. Nonetheless, if you do nothing, well, you will get nothing. Better to dedicate yourself than let your body become a walking blob of jello. Sounds horrendous, doesn't it? It's also a very good possibility should you decide to forgo the following...

Your thigh reduction regime:

1 - Choose exercises that are focused on burning the fat instead of building the muscles on the area at least on the initial phase of your regimen. You will experience better result with this practice, as building muscle simply pushes the fat out further.

2 - Time is essential when you want to have targeted fat-burning cardio exercises, which will require at least 30 minutes daily for five times in a week. Intermittent training works best. You can consult a personal trainer if you are confused on what exercises are best that can give you maximum results.

3 - Cut down on hardcore sugars and saturated fats, and be sure to consume a "minimum" of 8 glasses of water daily. Eat smaller meals with three to four hour intervals that contain complex carbohydrates and some lean protein. You can reference any diet book for proper foods (I'm simply providing you the "hard and fast" of it all - to get started).

Quick note: We usually "know" which foods are good or bad, but we ask anyway hoping that somebody (anybody!) will say a Twinkie is good for us.

4 - Consider utilizing body wraps to facilitate the reduction of water weight (and sometimes cellulite) that can contribute to the spongy, dimpled thigh appearance. Targeted reduction in a specific area can "sometimes" be achieved with body wraps, if only for a short period of time. It's not fat loss. But if you follow up with consistent exercise and a healthy diet, you can expect to reap thinner thighs long term.

Are bad genetics the kiss of death when it comes to thigh fat? For some people, blaming parents and starring at a dis-satisfied reflection seems to be the extent of dealing with fat thighs. The blame game is never the answer. To lose thigh fat, you'll have to take physical action. With constant effort and determination you should be able to fight against what your genes are telling your body to do. The rest is up to you!

Dieting - Listen to Your Body

Have you ever been on a diet and resisted eating while your stomach was making hungry noises? Sometimes when you get hungry, you ignore that feeling for fear of gaining weight. As you ignore it more often, it disappears or it retaliates by making you binge.

And the same goes for satiety (feeling full). This is the voice we ignore the most. If you don't know what I'm talking about, picture yourself at a big delicious family meal gathering; you've had a lot to eat and you're getting full but you can't resist your aunt's amazing dish or your mothers mouth-watering pie, so you eat way beyond the point of fullness and you crush that little voice that keeps popping up to tell you you've had enough. Although a lot more subtle than the voice of hunger, the voice of satiety is present in all of us but you can hear it better with practice.

The hunger and satiety mechanisms are a gift, and they are part of our body's amazing abilities to maintain optimum weight and health. Ignoring them would mean giving up on your body and allowing others to tell you what your body needs instead of looking at yourself for the answer.

Start strengthening these mechanisms today, and build on them over time. Try this:

- Allow yourself to feel hunger and then stop for a moment to think about what it is you're hungry for. Do you feel like having something sweet, savoury, salty, sour, etc. Sometimes, giving your body exactly the taste it needs means you will be satisfied sooner. To satisfy that hunger, opt for a healthy option of course.

- During your meals, eat slowly and listen to the faint voice that will tell you that you're full. It usually comes around the time when your eating starts to slow down or when you put your fork down for a few seconds. Listen to what that voice is telling you. Stop when you're satisfied, not when you're painfully full.

- Stop eating when you feel you've had enough (not a minute beyond), even if you haven't finished your plate. Finishing your plate will not solve world hunger. You'll get better at this with practice.

Analyse what you're eating

Take an honest look at what you're eating and your overall diet. Most people know what they're doing wrong but they're either in denial or they wait until they hear it from someone else.

As you analyse your diet, do the following:

- Name three foods (or food groups) that you think are making you gain weight, or stopping you from losing weight.

- Come up with two healthy substitutes for each of these food groups. For example, if chocolate is your biggest problem, then plan to have raisins or dates instead, and so on.

Here's a list of the different foods that may be adding to your weight at the moment. These should be reduced or cut out completely. If you do not reduce them, all your weight loss efforts will be in vain.

Foods to cut out

- Fast food such as cheeseburgers, fries, nuggets, etc - Chocolates and sugar-containing sweets and desserts - Chewing gum - Refined white products such as white bread, white rice, etc - Fried foods and foods containing hydrogenated oils such as commercial biscuits and instant soups - Foods containing additives, colourings, and flavour enhancers.

Diet For Teenagers - Powerful Weight Loss With Potatoes

Potatoes are Fattening, Right?

That's the myth, but a medium-sized baked potato is only about 160 calories by itself. When you think of a baked potato, you probably think of all of the toppings that typically come piled on top: butter, cheese, sour cream, and bacon bits.

Of course the extras are fattening, but the potato itself can be a healthy part of a diet for teenagers. If you need some extra flavor you can always use low-fat or fat-free sour cream, chives, and sprinkle some black pepper on top.

How Potatoes Aid Weight Loss

Consistently keeping hunger at bay is a powerful way to lose weight, and potatoes can help your teenager do that very effectively because they're quite filling. Potatoes will leave you feeling full because the skins are loaded with fiber and potassium. Leave the skin on the potato to get the full benefits out of them.

Potatoes are also a good source of complex carbohydrates, vitamin B1, vitamin C, protein, and iron. The carbohydrates from potatoes will break down slowly and will keep your teen satisfied for awhile until their next meal.

Avoiding Bad Potatoes

It's commonly known that potato chips and French fries are unhealthy ways to prepare potatoes, but even lesser known baked potato chips should be avoided in a healthy teen diet. The reason they should be avoided is because of the extra salt in them that will cause their bodies to retain excess water weight.

Read the labels of your potato products to see that there isn't an excessive amount of salt in them. According to the Mayo Clinic the average American gets 77% of their sodium from processed and prepared foods.

Combine Water-Rich Foods with Potatoes

To further aid in powerful weight loss with potatoes, combine them with fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of water volume. Some examples of water-rich foods are:

* Celery, 96% water * Watermelon, 92% water * Cucumber, 96% water * Iceburg Lettuce, 96% water

Potatoes themselves are approximately 80% water, and 20% solid mass too. There are plenty of other foods that are mostly water that can be combined for a creative way to aid your teen's weight loss.

To Trim Stomach Fat Get Support From Your Friends & Family

There is more than one reason to get your friends and family involved in your weight loss diet plan. The first and foremost reason being that it is so much easier to stick with your plan to trim stomach fat if you do have the support of the people close to you who can help keep you on the right track.

Additionally you might just be doing them a favor in that they can learn to live the healthy life, like you are attempting to do, simply by your example. So if someone else in your group is struggling with any form of obesity they may be inclined to follow your path to lose weight and trim stomach fat.

Some things you might consider to help you lose weight with help from your friends: You might exercise as a group, even if with only one other person, making it more fun and enjoyable to do the things necessary to lose weight instead drudging through it on your own.

You might also consider walking around the block or to the park swimming hiking biking etc. making this form of exercise good and fun for all concerned.

You can even lift weights or do other resistance training together making it more enjoyable. For example, having a spotter makes weight lifting easier and if you have someone to encourage you as you work harder you do a better job.

If others in your household are involved in your weight loss efforts, particularly the one who purchases the food, you will probably be seeing better and more nutritional foods purchased and consumed in your household. That by itself will increase the health of the people you care for including yourself.

As with anything we do in life, if you have people doing the opposite of what you need to do, like eating the bad food that got you overweight in the first place, then your positive attitude about weight loss suffers.

If you do not have people around that encourage you to trim stomach fat and reduce waist size, then you have the additional task of consciously forcing yourself to stick to your weight loss goals.

Richard Crandall provides tips insight and information about health and fitness subjects to help reduce unhealthy weight from the body and keep it off. His insight is gathered from a lifetime of personal experience and from other health nutrition experts.

Low Carb Diet Not Working. It is Time to Try Calorie Shifting.

Low carbohydrate diets are popular but they can leave you feeling exhausted because carbohydrates are the main source of energy used by your body. By going without carbohydrates you drain your energy and feel just plain awful. And if that were not bad enough being on a low carb diet for too long can result in a weight loss plateau. If you have had it with having to say no to all your favorite foods or worse yet your low carb diet has stopped working then it is time to look into calorie shifting.

What is calorie shifting?

In a simple explanation, it is a method of achieving rapid weight loss by varying the number of calories you feed your body throughout the day and throughout the week. By doing this your body is forced to stay on its toes so to speak and this helps you avoid hitting a weight loss plateau.

How is calorie shifting different from a low carb diet?

In these diet plans, you do not avoid an entire food group. Dieters who practice these plans understand that the body needs a variety of nutrients to stay healthy and to maintain a healthy weight. Carbohydrates are included in these calorie rotation diets, but it is still important to eat the right foods. In other words, do not look to these plans hoping that you can eat junk food all day long, this cannot work for anyone pursuing a healthy weight loss program -- but by eating carbs at the right time of day, you can actually accelerate your fat loss.

When do you eat carbohydrates on a calorie shifting diet?

To get the best results, you will want to follow a program, but to give you a general idea of how carbs are eaten on these plans, you must understand that carbohydrates are viewed by your body as energy foods. With this understanding, it makes sense that you would want to feed your body carbohydrates when it is in the most need of energy -- and this would mean the early part of the day. Carbohydrates eaten late in the day, say before bed have a higher risk of being converted to fat.

Also, on these plans, you will move through diet cycles and follow up these cycles with days off your diet in which you can satisfy your cravings for any carbohydrate you desire. This is perhaps one of the most loved features by dieters who use calorie shifting and it is not only fun, it is also vital to the success of the plan because these "off" days help boost your body's metabolic rate so you continue to burn fat fast.

If your low carbohydrate diet is making your life miserable and has stopped working, then it is time to give yourself the benefits found in a calorie shifting diet plan.

Does Dieting Make You Miserable You Will Love Calories Shifting

If even the thought of going on a diet makes you miserable and you feel that you will have to stop enjoying life, then think again. Calories shifting gives you the freedom to have regular high calorie days and your body will lose weight faster.

These diet plans accelerate weight loss by shifting when you eat and varying the number of calories you consume on different days. For instance, you follow a lower calorie diet for a few days and then follow that up with a few days of higher calorie intake. This alternating, called calories shifting, is what makes this diet easy to follow. The advantages are that you are keeping your metabolism high, which in turn leads to very fast fat loss and prevents you from feeling deprived, which is one of the main reasons diets fail.

The problems with traditional dieting that keep your calories at a low level for weeks at a time is that your body reacts to the lower calorie intake by slowing down your metabolism and when your metabolism goes down so does your ability to burn fat.

Calories shifting takes a different approach. First used by doctors trying to help patients lose weight quickly, before surgery. Because of the success these patients were having, this technique soon spread to the public and has been refined ever since.

Most people who have spent time on a diet know how hard it can be to stick to a low calorie plan day after day. It seems like you never get a break but with this shifting diet, you have scheduled "cheat days" built in; in fact, these higher calorie days are necessary to keep your metabolism functioning fully. Your metabolism is what determines the rate at which your body will burn fat and when you restrict your calories for too long your body slows down your metabolism in an attempt to save your body fat.

When you practice calories shifting, the shift between diet days and days off keeps your body confused so it does not adapt to your diet and slow your metabolism. This sets your body up for fast weight loss that does not stall or reach a plateau.

Another feature of these diets is eating until you feel satisfied and eating more frequently throughout the day. The purpose of this again is to keep your metabolism high so your body freely burns body fat.

Some people have the mindset that to lose weight they must go on a strict diet, avoid all their favorite foods and suffer but this can actually cause your body to hold on to fat. There is a better way to lose the weight and by learning how to eat the right foods in the right pattern you can lose weight fast and easy with calories shifting.

Diet For Teenagers - 8 Easy Ways to Shred the Pounds

Ideas that Work

There are many things your teen can do today to help them instantly lose weight. These are not miracle drugs or cures, but methods that utilize the body's natural systems to aid them in losing weight. Read on for ideas to help shed the pounds in no time and learn the importance for a diet for teenagers.

Stop Eating Salt

For every ounce of salt consumed the human body will retain a whole 6 pounds of water weight to dilute the substance and prevent it from causing damage to the body. The chances are your teen will get more than enough sodium in their diet from the foods that aren't even know to be salty, so cutting out all of the salty snacks and foods will make an instant difference in your teenager's weight.

Drink Water and Nothing Else

Cutting out beverages like sodas and coffee will do wonders for helping your teenager lose weight very quickly. Drinking adequate amounts of water may be challenging, but if your teenager is serious about losing weight this should be one of their most important concerns. It's recommended that most people drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day.

Eat Small Portions

Eating up to 6 times each day is good for weight loss, provided the portions are roughly 1/3 the size of an average portion. Even if your teenager eats less often, having them eat a half-sized portion can help them lose weight very quickly by cutting out the extra calories.

Eat Raw

Eating raw fruits and vegetables can support your teenager's weight loss because the body has to work a little harder to break down the raw materials for energy. Uncooked foods also tend to be more nutritious, and provide the nutrients a growing teenager needs in abundance. By eating raw foods your teenager will very likely be using more calories to digest each meal!

Perform Any Kind of Exercise

Anything from walking to lifting weights will help your teenager lose unhealthy weight. Even heavy lifting will support weight loss, and is actually better at burning excess fat. Girls need not fear that weight lifting will make them look bulky, it would take extreme efforts to look like a bodybuilder. Walking about 45 minutes each day before dinner can also be a great way to help your teenager lose weight, so be sure they're getting some exercise.

Switch Your Milk

If you're buying whole milk, try cutting back to one of the less fattening varieties: 2%, 1% or even fat free. Believe it or not a diet rich in dairy can be very good for weight loss.

Take a Multivitamin

Having a daily multivitamin can reduce appetites, and leave your teenager feeling more satisfied with each meal. This will also ensure that there aren't any nutritional deficiencies in their diet. Keep in mind that vitamins should never be used as a substitute for real food, however.

Send Them to Bed Early Tonight

Getting enough sleep will help regulate hormones that affect appetite. Too little sleep will raise your teen's appetite beyond normal levels. They should be getting between 6-8 hours tonight to ensure their appetite stays normal.

Diet For Teenagers - Realistic Ways to Lose Weight

Get Real

Most people inherently know the basics of losing weight. A healthy diet for teenagers isn't much different. You lose weight when you're taking in less calories and at the same time burning them off. You're already aware that this is accomplished through a healthy diet and exercise, but maybe you're not sure of how to go about helping your teen adopt these habits.

First, commit yourself to being realistic about your teenager's weight problem and don't accept any nonsense. Don't accept any fad diets and take an honest look at the problem. You don't want to simply help your teen lose weight, you want them to make healthy changes that last. Here you'll discover a few realistic teen weight loss ideas that will get them on the right track.

Hold Them Accountable

If your teenager wants to lose weight and has expressed a strong interest in it, hold them accountable for it. Remind them in a supportive way that they wanted to lose weight in the first place if they start working on it. You can make them accountable by sharing a calendar with their progress on it, or simply ask them every few days how things are going.

A parent can only do so much once the child has reached their teens. The responsibility for their bodies is now their own. You may want to remind them that no one is going to do it for them. The idea isn't to leave them on their own emotionally, but to place the burden of responsibility back on them to ensure they build healthy habits that will last them into adulthood. Too much coddling will have negative effects and likely lead to weight gain.

Eat Better

The most obvious ideas are sometimes thought to be too easy, but they just can't be ignored if you want your teen to lose weight. Eating better is partially your responsibility as a parent, because you decide what foods appear in your refrigerator and pantry.

Providing more fruits and vegetables in place of sugary and salty snacks is a necessity to helping your teen lose weight. Throw away the foods that have more than a few ingredients on the label, and get used to examining the sugar and sodium content of snacks.

Limiting white sugar, table salt, white flour, and white rice can also help cut weight gain immensely. Remember that when you're cutting unhealthy foods out you MUST replace them healthy alternatives. The better the alternatives taste, the easier it will be to keep your teen from craving the bad stuff.

Keep Exercises Simple

When first starting to exercise it's best to start slowly and not overdo it. If your teenager is highly motivated to lose weight they may think they can spend hours at the gym and speed things up.

It's much better to walk for 45 minutes a few times each week than it is to spend 2 hours at the gym one day of the week and get burned out. The idea is to make it a regular habit, and the weight loss will follow.

Walking may not be a very intense workout, but it is easy to do and does wonders for weight loss. As an extra motivation you can let them pick out a new pair of walking or running shoes to get them going.

Why I Am Not a Fan of Weight Watchers

A client asked me today if I was a fan of weight watchers, and to be quite honest, the answer is NO. The term doesn't sit well with me for many reasons. Think about it. WEIGHT. WATCHERS. People watching weight. Even better, people spending a billion dollars a year watching weight. What could you be spending your money on?

Season tickets. New clothes. Fabulous dinners. Surprise gifts. Charitable contributions. Growing as an individual. Education.

What would you be doing if you weren't watching the weight?

Laughing. Dancing. Reading. Resting. Writing. Gardening. Talking. Listening. Crying. Walking. Learning. Growing. Making Love. Singing. Cooking delicious foods. Living.

Here's my little secret to weight loss in a nutshell: focus less on your weight and more on creating your best life. Life isn't going to necessarily get better when you lose the weight if you didn't have a great time losing it. Life doesn't start once you hit your goal weight; it's happening right now.

Now, here's the only exception: if you absolutely love, love, love counting points and watching the scale, then I say, go for it, because that's the ultimate goal: to have joy and peace. However, if you feel like a prisoner of your weight and you're not really enjoying watching the number go up and down, why not try skipping the scale and going straight for the good stuff: a joyful life where food isn't the enemy that needs to be under constant guard.

Here's the irony: the weight usually disappears when you aren't watching because what you focus on grows.

What do you want to grow in your life? Your weight obsession? Your increased anxiety around food and your body?

I didn't think so.

7 Dieting Tips to Get Thin For Summer

It is getting warm and we are wearing fewer clothes. Also, it's common that many of us gain a few pounds during the winter as we are often outdoors far less and far less active. Winter food also tends to be hearty and full of calories. Add all these and many of us are bigger than we want! Here are 7 tips to slim down for summer and the more revealing clothes most of us will naturally wear.

1) Get started today. Eat something healthy, do some exercise, or start a formal diet or exercise program immediately. Summer will be here before you know it.

2) Get rid off unhealthy food. Throw away junk food in your home and office. Remove temptations as much as possible.

3) If you are a snacker, and nothing is wrong with snacking, have healthy low calorie snacks around. For example I eat lots of apples and carrots, but if I don't have any I'll grab a bag of chips without even thinking about it.

4) You will need to exercise or at least be active to lose weight, and that's easy in the spring. I tend to garden in the spring and that burns calories. I'm also more likely to walk, I start riding my bike, and I might even go for the occasional run. Friends also try to get me to play pick up basketball and softball games. You may not feel like going to the gym with this warm weather, but being active is simple. And if it's cold and raining, the gym is always a decent option.

5) You will need to eat less and healthier, period. I find this easier in spring by having lots of the fresh fruits and veggies that are available. However you do it, you will need to cut down. See tip 6 too.

6) Spring and summer means grilling, and although I love steaks, hamburgers, and cheeseburgers, there are other delicious and healthy alternatives. Chicken, turkey burgers, and skewers of veggies are all things I've grilled in the last week, and even the children liked them. I can't wait to start grilling corn on the cob too.

7) You may not want to hear this, but a positive attitude works wonders. Think, "It is spring, I'll naturally and easily lose weight if I work at it," and that's likely to be true.

Spring is the easiest and perhaps the most important time of the year to slim down. Hopefully these 7 tips will motivate and help you!

Dance Your Way To Weight Loss - Dancing is an extremely effective form of Cardio. You may join a dance class or do the dancing alone. Just dance to the music or order an instructional DVD.

If you have a partner, that'd be great. Make sure that you dance for twenty minutes every day. If you are in a relationship and the two of you dancing every day will increase your bond.

Hit The Stairs - Never take the elevator from now on. If you want to drop 5 pounds in a week and keep dropping until you have the body you dream of, consciously commit to using the stairs from now on.

Five minutes of stair climbing is equivalent to ten minutes of running on a treadmill. It burns a lot of fat and especially gets rid of the cellulite.

The Apple Diet - The apple diet is an extremely powerful diet. All you have to do is eat only apples for one day. You are not allowed to eat anything else. The only fluid you can drink is water.

Feel free to consume as many apples as you like. But only apples. Apples are effective at removing toxins and boosting your body's metabolism. If you want super fast results, I recommend you do it once every week.

Is Skinny Ade Safe?

Yes, it clearly is. And because you are probably going to need some details about that, please make sure to read the following article for more information.

Skinny Ade is a new type of weight loss product, the type that actually works without sending you to hospital after the first couple of pills. It is entirely made out of natural extracts and because of this it is both effective and safe to use. There is virtually no chance that Skinny Ade can cause anything other than weight loss to a person, so you can be sure that at least it will not cause any kind of medical problems.

I mentioned that it was also pretty effective due to the same natural extracts. Indeed, it is, because these plants and fruits are very rich in some substances that can increase metabolic rate in a human body to an extent that it actually starts to burn fat on its' own. This is the new process discovered by scientists. They have found out somehow that the actual human body is able to burn immense amounts of fat, but you need a way to trigger that process. They managed to determine that some natural extracts contain exactly the substances that are needed to trigger this process.

The same natural ingredients are also providing with vitamins and energy to your body, as opposed to the rest of weight loss products that actually provide with fatigue and lack of energy. I really think that Skinny Ade is one of the best weight loss products out there.

Learn How Calorie Shifting Makes Losing Weight Faster and Easier

Losing weight can present numerous challenges and if you have spent any amount of time on a low calorie, low carbohydrate or low fat diet in the past then you likely ended up feeling deprived or with results that were slow at best. Calorie shifting is a method for achieving fast weight loss that has built-in "cheat days" that actually speed up fat loss and these diets are starting to take over the diet industry.

Unlike other diets, these plans do not require you to give up entire food groups or force the dieter to restrict calories for long periods. A person following a calories shifting diet will need to eat the right foods, in other words, you cannot expect to eat fast food and chocolate all day long and get fast results but these plans certainly give the dieter many freedoms not found in other diet plans.

Calorie shifting is much as it sounds, you shift your calorie intake during the day and over the course of the week and this constant variation keeps the body confused and this keeps the fat burning metabolism high. For instance, these diets show how the body processes types of foods differently during the day, a carbohydrate eaten early in the morning will likely be completely burned up and used for energy however this same carbohydrate eaten before bedtime is more likely to be turned to fat.

Calorie shifting also prevents the body from adapting to your diet, which is the reason most other diets slow down or hit weight loss plateaus. It has been found that your body will start to adapt to any change in your diet within a few days. In calorie shifting you use this knowledge to your advantage by shifting the number of calories you consume every few days. This keeps the body confused and never lets it settle into the diet and slow your weight loss. Using one of these plans is like giving your metabolic rate a shot in the arm every few days and this leads to faster results.

The cycle of a calorie shifting diet can span over a week or more with scheduled diet days in which you are monitoring your calorie intake followed by up to three days "off" your diet in which you can eat whatever you like without the normal diet restrictions. These off days keep your metabolism strong but they also make these types of diets extremely easy to follow as the dieter can expect regular breaks from dieting.

Calories shifting diets have gained much attention in the past few years because they have provided an alternative to overly restrictive and slow diets of the past. If you would like to experience faster weight loss that gives you regular breaks from the diet, then you will likely be pleased with calories shifting.

Get Thin Fast With the Ease of Calories Shifting

Whether you are getting ready for a wedding, beach vacation or just want to reach your weight loss goal as fast as possible you will want to utilize the dieting strategy know as calories shifting. The term calories shifting basically defines what it is, you simply shift your calorie intake on a regular basis. For instance for a few days you will follow a low calorie diet and then shift your diet to a few high calorie days. The benefit is that this simple act prevents your metabolism from dropping, which is the number one reason traditional diets stop working after a few weeks.

Why is calories shifting faster than a low calorie diet?

Low calorie diets only work for a short period. If you have ever gone on a low calorie diet, you know that your body loses weight quickly for the first week but then your weight loss slows every week until you finally hit a plateau. The reason low calories diets stop working is because your body adapts to the lower calorie intake by lowering your metabolic rate. When your metabolism is slow so is your weight loss and, you end up frustrated with slow or no weight loss.

Calories shifting prevents this metabolism slow down by confusing your body. It has been found that your body will start to adapt to any diet change within a few days so by keeping your calories low for a few days and then shifting to a higher calorie diet you stay one step ahead of your body and prevent the slow down of your metabolism, which in turn keep the fat burning off fast.

Are there other benefits with calories shifting?

One benefit important to any dieter is that with calories shifting you are not suffering with hunger. In fact, you need to eat more than three meals a day in order for calories shifting to work. When you starve yourself or keep your calorie intake too low, you create problems with the hormones that control fat burning and fat making. For example, if you starve yourself you body rebels and not only produces hormones that make you want to eat but also produces hormones that cause more of the foods you eat to be stored as fat. So starving or skipping meals actually makes you fatter.

Calories shifting speeds fat loss by constantly peaking your fat-burning metabolism and because you are adding higher calorie days to your diet you never feel deprived or bored. Whatever your motivation to get thin fast is you will want to incorporate calories shifting into your plan.

Diet For Teenagers - Killer Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Teen

Invisible Killers

Chemical additives are accepted as a normal part of our food supply. Many of the ingredients added to packaged and processed foods sustain them for longer periods and keep them fresher longer, while others help retain their color and appearance so they will look appealing to the consumer's eye.

Some of these chemicals are known to be harmful to health, while the effects of others are still unknown. A diet for teenagers that doesn't include these harmful chemicals promote weight loss and long-term health.

High Fructose Corn Syrup

This hidden sweetener is found in nearly all packaged foods you'll find at the grocery store. It serves to keep foods fresh longer and retain moisture, but it has NO place in your teen's diet. Large quantities of high fructose corn syrup are known to cause heart problems and raise cholesterol levels.

Partially Hydrogenated Oils

When oil is hydrogenated it's heated and hydrogen bubbles are passed through it. This causes the fatty acids to gain some of the hydrogen particles, making the oil more dense. A partially hydrogenated oil is a semi-solid, like butter.

Food manufacturers use partially hydrogenated oil as a butter substitute because of its lower dollar cost, and the buck is passed on to your health. These oils are dangerous for your teen's health and can be attributed to weight gain, and more serious health problems such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease later in life.

Artificial Sweeteners

While your teen is trying to lose weight you'll want to avoid white sugar and may look for substitutes, but be mindful that many artificial sweeteners are as harmful or more so than white sugar. Aspartame, for example, contains phenylalanine which can't be metabolized by some individuals. Other artificial sweeteners such as saccharin and sucralose (more commonly known as Splenda) aren't natural and may be harmful to your teenager.

Less is More

The shorter a list of ingredients is, the more likely it's a healthy option for your teen. This isn't always true, but inspecting food labels for some of the harmful food additives outlined in this article will improve any diet geared toward weight loss.

Safe and Proven Tips to Lose Weight Fast and How You Can Lose Weight Fast and Easy

Determination And Self-discipline Are Key To Losing Weight Fast

Losing weight is not actually a tough thing to do. It simply requires that the person possess an ounce of determination and self-discipline. Determination should be coupled with performing a regular exercise program, as well as by following a healthy meal plan. Losing weight within a short frame of time however, is often considered to be unhealthy, because a number of studies have shown that people who lose weight in a very short period of time are more prone to suffering from a host of nutritional deficiencies. Losing weight should take place in a gradual manner, but it shouldn't take you years to do it.

A Balanced Diet Helps To Lose Weight Fast

A balanced diet should be coupled with performing a regular exercise program. If you exercise excessively but fail to follow a proper diet plan, you will surely not lose wight. Your diet must also consist of a balanced mix of proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, as well as a short amount of fat. Foods rich in fiber help to avoid constipation, and also aid in facilitating regular bowel movement. Avoid eating foods that are high in cholesterol and fat, instead try eating foods that heighten your metabolism.

Eating less calories and burning more instead is a fundamental rule when losing weight. It's a fact that most of us consume excess calories than what's actually required by the body. Dieters are advised to count the calories they consume each day. To correctly do this, you first need to determine the recommended calorie consumption for your gender and age group, then find out how much calories you are actually consuming each day. After finding out how much calories you consume, gradually follow the recommended calroie intake for your age group and gender.

A Regular Exercise Program Works Wonders

If you wish to lose wieght fast, performing at least 45 minutes of exercise each day helps. You may wish to go to a gym, join aerobic classes, or work out at home. Also avoid using your car when going to short distances, and instead let your feet do the walking, as well as use the stairs instead of the elevators when going to your office. However, if you can't go to a gym or work out at home, try walking for at least 30 minutes each day, or do cycling, swimming and other activities that burn calories. Whatever the exercise routine you follow, remember to follow it with regularity, and discipline.

Misunderstandings in Weight Loss Through Exercise

People often do a lot of sweating exercise to lose weight, and they believe that they will lose more weight if they sweat more. Is that true? Listen to what the experts say.

1, There is no scientific basis for the sweat to lose weight.

It is reported that about 3 million sweat glands are distributed in the human body. The secretion of sweat can not only regulate body temperature, but also emit some metabolic waste. Normally, sweat is a reflex activity and the secretion of sweat glands may be caused by warm stimulation or mental stress. The heat will be transferred onto the surface of the skin by the water in the blood when it causes vasodilation. Then with the evaporation of the sweat, the heat will spread to the surrounding environment, and under the high temperature environment, the sweat volume of human body can be as high as 8 to 12 liters per day.

2, Some diseases also lead to sweat.

Of course, some diseases may lead to sweat. If suffering from rheumatism or tuberculosis, you will sweat a lot. Besides, the encephalitis sequelae is often associated with sweating. If this happens, it is necessary for you to go to the hospital in time for the relevant inspection. The process of sweating is one that dissipates the excessive heat of the body. Too much perspiration will cause a loss of water in the human body. Though it can make you lose weight, it is a temporary effect. To reduce the fat is the real way for weight loss. Only with daily exercise and heat consumption can you lose weight successfully.

Reducing Fat in Your Body

Reducing fat is a target goal for almost every dieter, especially since fat is seen as an obstruction to a healthy and lean body structure. Weight loss is arguably one of the largest sought after human goals. Each year millions of yo yo dieters go in search of the next miracle diet to achieve fat loss.

Fat loss happens from all the parts of your body where it is stored at, not just from one area. Fat does not make you fat! However, basic math dictates that higher fat foods will have higher calories.

Reducing fat is not just a health issue either. The way I see it, we are biologically programmed to seek out fatty foods, mainly due to our eating habits when we were younger. Reducing fat is one of the easiest steps to making such changes in your life.

Healthy weight loss is not just about a "diet" or "program". It is about an ongoing lifestyle that includes long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits. Health and diet used to be about lifestyle management. As soon as the marketers entered the picture with their, snake oil protein powders and pills, this lifestyle was never the same.

Exercise, needs to be part of your life, pretty much till you die!

Exercise raises the metabolism, the bodys' mechanism for burning calories. What happens is that by raising our metabolism we not only burn more calories as we exercise, the body continues to burn calories for a period even after we finish exercising. Another benefit to exercise is that it stimulates the brain and also produces endorphins which are responsible for promoting the feeling of wellness.

For many, exercising may come across as difficult and time consuming, but it really is not. Weight loss is quite simple, burn more calories then you consume. A no brainer here. If you can fully understand that then you are on your way to losing weight. Weight loss is not difficult if you know how to approach it correctly. All it takes is taking care of what you eat, how much you eat and what activities you do to burn calories.

By taking just as little as 20 minutes a day to participate in an exercise routine such as a simple walk around the block first thing in the morning or just after dinner, you will already be doing a huge part to keeping off the weight.

You see, reducing fat is not that tough. Once you have a simple daily routine of exercising, you will soon be on your way in helping you move towards a slim body.

Exercise will spare the muscle tissue so that mostly fat is lost while dieting. If you are not dieting but eating correctly while exercising, muscle tissue will grow, and your proportion of fat will reduce dramatically. Exercise helps here by burning extra calories and suppressing your appetite (relative to your activity). Muscle that you build raises your resting metabolism as muscle burns more calories than fat, even when you are just sitting around. Combining a healthy diet plan with regular exercise can work like magic for your health and your waist line.

Weight loss is a gradual process, and every small step you take towards your goal helps. Even with time constraints, you can make small daily changes to help move you towards your goal weight.

Diet For Teenagers - Outlandish Weight Loss Ideas

Thinking Outside the Box

You're familiar with all of the usual diet for teenagers ideas about eating healthy and exercising, but in this article you'll get several outlandish ideas that will have you thinking outside the box. Read on to discover some very creative ideas to help your teen lose weight.

Buy an Outfit that Doesn't Fit Yet

Your teen could be motivated by a new outfit that will fit them only if they shed a couple of sizes. This is more likely to work for girls, but it can work for boys too.

Eat a Big Breakfast

Letting your teenager pig out on breakfast, provided it's healthy will support weight loss because they'll be less tempted to eat later in the day. Use your best judgment when using this trick.

Make Dinner Thinner

This tip works best if you super-sized breakfast. Serve a smaller portion of dinner, especially the main course and fattening sides. Serve more vegetables and cut the portion in half, or a third if you want quicker results.

Smelling Foods

Smelling a piece of fruit without eating it, for example, may actually trick your brain into thinking your body has eaten it. This is an odd trick, but it works.

Brush After Meals

If your teen wants to maintain a healthy smile and fight the urge to eat more often they should brush their teeth after each meal or in-between meals. Food won't seem as appealing with that minty fresh taste in their mouths.

Watching Yourself Eat

Putting a mirror where you can see yourself eat can decrease how much a person eats by nearly a third. Try it out for yourself and see how it works.

Let the Stomach Growl

Try going without a meal until your stomach makes an audible growling noise. This may be a difficult task, but use with caution because it could cause overeating or choosing to eat the wrong foods simply out of hunger. It works best after a decent lunch and before a planned dinner.

Eat Spicy Foods

Eating hot and spicy meals can lower appetite so you'll eat much less. This works with any spicy food or condiment, so add hot sauce or hot peppers to the mix and your teen will probably eat much less!

Get the Blues

The color blue is an appetite suppressant. That may be hard to believe, but can you name any popular restaurants that primarily use the color blue in their logo? Decorate the dining room or places your teen spends a lot of time at home with the color blue and it may have an uncanny effect on their weight loss.

Diet For Teenagers - 3 Things Every Parent Needs to Know

Overview

In this article you'll discover three things every parent must know about a diet for teenagers before letting their child begin. Girls may be more likely to diet than boys, but all teenagers are acutely aware of their body image. Most teenagers have tried fad dieting on their own, and the effects are often disappointing and cause further weight gain.

A negative body image will affect everything about your teenager's behavior. It may lead to classic low self-esteem, anger, frustration, and other serious emotional problems that aren't strictly related to physical health. Read on to find out more about the motivations your teenager may have for losing weight.

Motivations for Losing Weight

It's normal to compare ourselves to our peers in many respects, the most direct way being physical appearance. Even if your teenager isn't actually overweight, they may still think or feel that they're not an adequate weight because they're unfairly comparing themselves to other students with different body types.

Losing weight may be driven by social pressure in an attempt to fit in with a group, or attract the attention of members of the opposite sex. Knowing the reasons for losing weight and turning negative motivators such as peer pressure into positive motivators like improved well-being can make the task of losing weight more enjoyable.

Knowing your teenager's personal motivations for losing weight may be challenging, but helping them identify their motivations will give them a clear reason for making changes to their lifestyle habits.

The Burden of Responsibility

As a parent you'll naturally want to help your child lose weight, but it's critical that you don't try to force them into anything. You may be legally responsible for them, but ultimately they will be responsible for their actions.

You can help by being supportive and offering suggestions, but realize that the responsibility to eat better and exercise is theirs. If you've lost weight in the past, don't assume that what worked for you will work for them. Allow your teenager to take responsibility for their weight loss, and if they're self-motivated they may be capable of losing weight on their own.

Designing a Unique Diet

The last, and arguably most important thing you need to know about is the diet itself. There are literally hundreds of thousands of diets, but how can any diet be perfect for everyone? The simple answer, of course, is that there is no perfect diet.

Lose Weight and Get Toned in Less Than Half the Time

Many people think dieting and starving yourself is the best way to lose weight. However, not eating can slow your metabolism and the best way to lose weight is, believe it or not, to keep eating, but eating right! Also, steady exercise with cardio and resistance training will tone your body and keep you looking attractive...the reason why you're REALLY working out.

The best exercise to do if you want BOTH cardio and resistance training is the rowing machine. Now, many people are intimidated by this machine but really they don't need to be because with it you have the ability to burn up to 1,500 calories and hour! That's more than any other machine is capable of doing (at an average pace). Burning this many calories in an hour permits you to actually eat and not starve yourself, which is EXTREMELY unhealthy. But make sure you're eating right! I don't have to tell you what's healthy and what's not most people can figure that out on their own. =p.

The rowing machine (ergometer) strengthens your quads, abs, upper and lower back, triceps and biceps all in one motion, making it extremely effective. Make sure you're using the proper technique, sitting up straight and making sure not to lean back too far at the finish so as not to strain your lower back.

Below is the recommended workout. Don't forget to eat right!

Workout: 30 mins rowing machine (ergometer)/day 10 mins (or 200) puchups/day 20 mins stretching after workout

Easy Steps to Lose Post Pregnancy Weight

During pregnancy, the average woman should gain around 25-35 pounds. A good bit of this weight will be lost after giving birth, but most women struggle with losing those last 10-15 stubborn pounds. Luckily, I have found the most helpful tips on how to lose post pregnancy weight, and listed them all right here for you.

* First, make sure your doctor is ok with you exercising. Women who give birth vaginally should be able to exercise 4-6 weeks after giving birth, but women who get c-sections should usually wait 8 weeks. Just check with your doctor first. * Stop eating like you're still pregnant. During pregnancy, you may have eaten pizza and ice cream every morning for breakfast, but post pregnancy you needs to get out of these bad habits. Start eating healthy again- and I mean whole grains, lean proteins, and plenty of fruits and vegetables. * Get that cardio exercise in! Make sure to do some form of cardiovascular exercise 5 times a week. This will get you body started burning that extra fat left from your pregnancy. * Get your baby working out too! There are mommy and baby fitness classes you can enroll in, as well as stroller fitness classes. And for the days you aren't doing classes with your baby, you could consider finding a gym that offers daycare to members. * Breastfeeding- it burns calories and can help you lose some of that extra post pregnancy weight. * Lastly, and most importantly, set realistic goals for yourself, and don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Don't compare yourself to your friends or your sister or (especially) celebrities who seem to lose their baby weight right after giving birth. Doing so can kill your motivation. Just set a goal, like losing 1-2 pounds a week. This is realistic, attainable, and you'll feel so great when you meet your goals.

With all of these points in mind, start your post pregnancy weight loss with a positive attitude, and you'll be back to your pre-baby self in no time!

End You Emotional Attachment to Your Scale During Weight Loss

Many people when losing weight have an emotional attachment to the scale. Learn what you should rather focus on instead in order to determine success or not when you are trying to lose weight effectively.

One of the biggest problems during weight loss is becoming attached to the scale. It is very difficult to put in the effort into a diet and workout plan to only see that you have not lost any weight that week, or even worse, you have gained a pound or two. This can cause many people to feel bad about their dieting efforts and possibly give up thinking that losing weight is impossible because they actually did try.

You have to realize that there are many factors to weight loss besides if you ate less calories and did some workouts. Your weight will fluctuate from week to week and especially each day. If you use the number on the scale as a measure of success, many times you will be let down as it is difficult to lose pounds consistently week after week with weight fluctuations.

One must change their mentality about the scale and to stop looking at the scale on a daily basis. First of all, if you are eating right and exercising, over the long run you will lose fat and in turn lose weight. The goal of success for the week needs to be put on whether you meet your eating goals and exercise goals versus if you lost weight that week. The reason is because you will be successful in the long run meeting these goals week after week getting to your goal weight much quicker.

For those who are attached to the scale, start weighing every few weeks or even once a month. At this rate the chances of gaining weight is much lower since it's over the course of a month versus week to week where weight fluctuates much more. This will prevent you from feeling down when the numbers do not say what you would like them to say. If you get too down about it, weigh even less.

Write down some solid goals each week. Write down your eating goals and your exercise goals. If you complete these well, you had success for the week. If you didn't, regardless what the scale says, you failed. In reality, those with the disciplines and following through are the ones who are succeeding.

Finding a Diet That Will Work For You

Dieting is something that a lot of men and women do a lot of the time, but while a particular diet might work for your friend, it might not work for you. Different people react to certain diet plans in different ways. Some diets are only effective for particular types of people, but there are also some diets that simply do not work at all, for anyone.

One reason why people react differently to diets is that there seems to be a genetic component to how our bodies react to what we eat. According to one study, there is an 80 percent risk of a child who has two obese parents going on to become obese themselves. Lifestyle is also an important factor, however, and it is likely that the parental influence is also related to the way a child eats and how active they are. This also means that, even if both your parents are thin, you cannot expect to eat whatever you want and remain so yourself.

Most people assume that dieting means eating the sort of food that no one really likes, and that they must eat tiny meals and only at rigorously timed intervals. This is why many people find it impossible to stick to their diets: no one actually eats like this. In order to lose weight successfully, it is important to find a healthy diet that is actually tasty, otherwise the temptation to cheat is likely to be too great.

When you choose a diet, you should try to find one that you will be able to stick to in the long term. The most important change you can make to the way you eat and the way you think about food is to moderate your intake. You can still eat the occasional treat, and you should not try to completely excise fat or sugar from your diet, but you do need to be careful about how much that you eat and find healthier alternatives that are still tasty. The key to finding a good diet that will work for you is to find a healthy way of eating that will be sustainable.

Diet For Teenagers - 5 Things Parents Must Avoid Feeding Their Kid

Poisonous Foods

You probably already know a typical diet for teenagers contains many foods which are processed by sophisticated machinery, and undergo a lot of changes from their natural state before arriving in the grocery store and your home.

What you may not know is just how toxic and nutrient-deficient some of these foods are. In this article you'll learn about five toxic foods that you absolutely must avoid, especially when considering an overweight teen's habits.

White Sugar

Sugar is a favorite of Americans. It's in literally everything, even foods that aren't obviously sweet like canned soups and condiments. It doesn't stop there either, many of the foods that are being marketed as "healthy" just aren't so.

Particularly concerning for parents of overweight teenagers are the long-term effects of consuming too much sugar. Excess sugar raises the risk for serious health conditions later on in life such as hypertension, heart disease, strokes, hypoglycemia, diabetes, and much more.

White Flour

Flour is thought to be relatively safe, again because it's so common in our food supply. White flour is a highly processed form of flour that is stripped of two of the most important parts of the seed: the outside bran layer and the germ, or embryo.

The result is essentially food that is dead, and void of nutrition. To make matters worse, white flour products are chemically bleached so you're feeding your teenagers unnatural substances in foods like white bread. Opting for whole grain breads and flour is essential to helping your teen lose weight.

White Rice

Similar to white flour, white rice is chemically bleached and stripped of many of its nutrients. There is some debate about whether or not white rice is healthy, because it still contains some fiber and vitamins, but it's best to be on the safe side when considering what foods an overweight teen may eat.

In contrast with brown rice, white rice puts extra stress on the body's blood-sugar regulation system and will break down more rapidly into simple sugars. Choosing brown rice or other nutrient rich grains are beneficial to weight loss.

White Salt

Like sugar, most of the salt your teenager will consume won't be added by their choice, but instead hidden in the processed foods eaten daily. Salt is an underestimated health risk for most people, but the experts are aware of how deadly it is.

Table salt is a chemical compound known as sodium chloride and has NO place in anyone's diet. It's strictly a flavor additive that can be substituted with other healthy options, like natural spices or other forms of salt that are nutrient-rich.

Just one ounce of salt will keep an extra 6 pounds of excess water weight in your body to dilute the toxic substance. It may be difficult to remove salt from your teenager's diet completely, but it must be if they intend to lose weight. Salt is a great contributor to weight gain and obesity, and regular consumption will lead to serious health problems later in life.

White Oils

What is white oil? It's any form of processed oil such as vegetable oil, canola oil, corn oil, olive oil, and many others. Many people still believe these oils are healthy and consume them thinking that they're doing their bodies a favor.

To make matters worse, these oils are even more deadly when heated up and turned into what are known as trans fats. Removing white oils from your teenager's diet will help them lose weight and be overall more healthy.

The Best Get Skinny Fast Diet - What is the Quickest Way to Lose Weight

If you feel unattractive or unhealthy and are looking to shed some fat, you have probably been wondering what the fastest way to lose weight is. Here are three steps to turning your body into a fat burning machine so you can get skinny fast following a simple diet:

1) Boost your metabolism and keep it elevated throughout the day and night. Eat lean proteins and lots of vegetables and avoid carbs at all costs. Remember, you only need to do this for a short time!

Proteins are harder to digest, so you'll find that you'll feel fuller for longer this way. In addition, eat four smaller meals a day rather than three huge ones. You won't even feel the need to snack!

2) Another simple way to keep your metabolism in high gear is to incorporate small amounts of simple exercise into your routine. This doesn't have to be torture though, and it doesn't even have to be time consuming.

If you're a busy person with a lot on you plate, then simply throw exercise in to the routine you already have. When you go out shopping, park your car as far away from the door as you can and take the stairs instead of the elevator wherever possible. A three minute walk won't ruin your schedule, but it adds up throughout the day to a decent workout!

3) Drink tons of water because it is scientifically proven to help you lose weight. You won't experience cravings or overeating nearly as much and you'll be losing lots of weight within just a month this way!

Cellulite Cures That Work - Tips to Get a Tight and Toned Bum Fast

Cellulite is easily one of the most embarrassing problems that a woman can have with her body because women take their bodies so seriously. No woman wants to be embarrassed by her body and neither do you. You want the cottage cheese look to disappear from your body forever. You want to have smooth thighs and you want to get that now. You need to learn about some cellulite cures that work.

Cellulite looks the way it does because of the fat disposition in your thighs. When the fat deposits itself within the muscles of the legs and butt, it makes these little pockets and that is what cellulite is. In order to get rid of this fat and these little pockets, a lot of women will massage the area a few times a day. This actually can work wonders to reduce the appearance of your cellulite. You are breaking up the fat within the body and this is exactly what you want to have happen.

Another cellulite cure that you need to use is exercise. Although you want an easier solution, the only true way that you are going to get rid of that cottage cheese butt and thighs is if you work out. If you don't want to spend an hour on the treadmill everyday, then try interval training 2-3 times a week. Interval training requires you to walk for 1 minute and then run for 30 seconds, or whatever you feel most comfortable doing. Interval training puts your heart rate into fat oxidation faster and this means that you are going to burn more fat in a shorter amount of time. You only need to hit the gym a couple times a week in order to get rid of the fat.

If you want to cure cellulite even further, then it is time to remove fats, sugars and carbs from your diet. All of these foods are only making your cellulite worse and even if you are working out and massaging the area, if you keep eating foods that contribute to the fat, then you aren't doing yourself any good. You need to watch what you eat and drink more water if you want to get rid of the cellulite for good.

Following these tips will give you a tight and toned bum fast. You will notice a vast improvement in the look of your hips and you will get a nice confidence booster as well. Start to feel better about your body again and get rid of the cellulite now.

Effective Weight Loss Training

For people who wish to become fit and healthy, fitness training needs to be a priority. The following tips are designed to assist athletes in maximizing the efficiency of their training efforts.

Effective training is varied, and includes elements that strengthen more than just the muscles. Aerobic exercise is also key, and should form the first part of your routine. Follow your aerobic exercise with exercises to strengthen muscles. Core stability, consisting of workouts that focus on abdomen and back, are also crucial; these should be performed next. At the end of your routine, finish with a series of stretches.

A lot of dedicated athletes find that by working out in the morning, it is easier to stay with their workout program long term.

If you complete your fitness routine in the morning, it gives you a great start to your day. You'll feel accomplished, and already on track.

It may be tempting to choose one type of exercise and neglect other types. Many people believe that they can do this, and still be fit and healthy. While some exercise is better than no exercise, it is much more productive and efficient to have a varied fitness routine.

During your workouts and training, you will be moving your body a great deal. For maximum benefit, expect to repeat each exercise in sets of two or three.

It is also important to start slowly and build up as fitness improves. Beginners should start with one set of exercise if they have no prior fitness training experience. As the body becomes accustomed to the exercise, increase the number of exercises performed.

Avoid the pitfall of excuse-making that can derail an otherwise well-planned fitness routine. If you have workout routines designed for home and outdoors, then you do not need to rely on a gym. The gym being too far away, or too crowded, will not be a deterrent.

Another added benefit to outdoor exercise is variety. Activities such as running, jogging, and cycling outside allow you to vary your routine and can prevent boredom.

Diet For Teenagers - The Real Issues You Should Worry About

It's Not Just About Food

When considering how to help your teen lose weight it's important to think of more than just the foods they're eating. That being said, it's just as important to ensure they're eating healthy foods while they're trying to lose weight.

Emotional and psychological factors should also be considered when you go about creating a healthy diet for teenagers. We'll address a few key points about food and the less obvious aspects of a healthy diet for teenagers in this brief article.

Food First

The first order of business is to find out which foods your teen is eating that are attributing to weight gain. One of the more difficult tasks of helping your teen lose weight is throwing away the junk food and substituting it with healthy options.

Go through your pantry and read the labels. Anything with high fructose corn syrup or enriched bleached flour should be thrown away, because they are known to be fattening and all-around unhealthy. Foods high in sugar, sodium, and with more than a few ingredients are best left in the trash can.

While you're throwing foods away, consider alternatives that can take the place of these foods. Obvious choices are more fruits and vegetables, you can hardly go wrong with them in their natural state. Avoid purchasing canned fruits and vegetables because of their extra sodium and sugar content, however.

Suggesting that your teen eats breakfast will also help them stave off hunger throughout the day and prevent them from reaching for convenience foods that are often high in calories, fat, sodium, sugar, and other harmful ingredients.

Body Image and Teen Psychology

Teenagers tend to be overly critical of themselves regarding their body image. They're constantly being exposed to media that paint an unrealistic image of what a person should be. Personal appearance is the single most important thing to most teenagers, and if your teen is overweight already they may feel they're constantly at odds with their peers.

Love, acceptance, and feeling uniquely important are needs every teen has. If your teen is overweight they may feel like outcasts at school, and find it difficult to relate to others and have friends. This can further complicate weight issues because food can be used as an emotional medicine to escape the pain.

Without being too invasive you can let your teen know you're there to support them in their goal of losing weight. As a parent you're responsible for providing them a healthy home environment to thrive, but ultimately they must want to change their habits and adopt a healthy lifestyle to lose weight.

Diet For Teenagers - Simple Ideas That Get Results

Simple Solutions are the Best Solutions

Building a diet for teenagers doesn't have to be complicated. There are many things that you can do to help them along. Keeping things simple will help them stay on track and not rebound back into unhealthy habits. In this short article we'll discover a few simple ideas to support your teenager in their goal of losing weight.

At the Dinner Table

At dinner, serve a larger portion of vegetables and cut down on fattening sides. Consider having a larger variety of vegetables available for dinner time. You can add more water-rich vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini to help fill them up and give them the nutrients they need.

Combining the vegetables with whole grain pasta will create a surprisingly filling meal and lowering the meat content of meals will help them lose weight very quickly.

Eating Less Salt for Quick Results

Eating less table salt can make an instant difference in your teenager's weight. For every ounce of table salt the human body will retain 6 pounds of water weight to dilute it.

After only a couple of days of limiting salty foods a lot of water weight can be quickly shed. Be aware of the salt content in all kinds of foods, especially anything processed and packaged.

Eat at Home

By making it a point to have your teenager eat at home they're much more likely to avoid foods high in fat and calories. Be sure that there are plenty of healthy, tasty snacks available at home, and they're more likely going to eat before leaving the house.

Slower Eating is Healthier

Eating food more slowly is healthier and will prevent your teenager from overeating. Having your meals at the dinner table with some conversation about the day's events instead of in front of the television or computer will make them more aware of their eating habits.

Massive Action

Getting to the Heart of weight loss.

There's only one reason that you aren't in the body that you deserve. I've worked with a lot of people who are trying to lose weight, mostly women, and there's one thing that hold each and every single on of them back.

They don't take action!

The weight loss formula isn't that hard: monitor your calories, make sure that you don't eat junk, and exercise. There are a lot of variables within that, but for the most part that simple 3 part formula will carry you through your weight loss journey.

Take for example one of my favorite clients from when I was in LA, Marie. She had some weight to lose, but not a lot, her eating was junk and all she did was cardio. Once we fixed those things, her weight loss was off the charts. The main reason that she finally reached the body that she deserved? Massive action.

I'm not saying that you must hire a personal trainer to see results, but when you consider that only about 5% of people will EVER hit their fitness goals it's something that you may want to consider.

Let's look at the top 3 reasons that people don't take action right now.

1. Fear of Failure.

This might sound silly, but it's SO true and relates directly to reason #2 (more on that later). A lot of people are scared to put themselves on the line and actually start changing their lives for the better. Phrases like "I'm going to.." "I'm trying to..." "We'll see how this goes" and on and on DESTROY any results that you may start making.

This also gives you an amazing out. I can't tell you how many times people have told me that they've "tried to lose weight before," and they'll walk me through which diets and programs they've done. The reason that most of them have fail is not because of a bad product, but because they aren't committed to changing.

2. You're comfortable where you are

If you ask most women they'd tell you that they'd LOVE to have *Insert Celebrity's Body Part Here*.

It's not a lack of motivation that's the issue.

Look, if there's food and water you little lizard brain is happy. If you try and change things the fear of removal of the sources of food and water freak out your subconscious.

I'm going to give you the fix for FREE. Spend 5 minutes a day thinking about not only what you want your body to look and feel like, but how you want to lead your life. Doing that does a couple of things. It gets you out of the mindset of "I can never do it" or "I guess this is just how my body will be after babies" into the positive mindset of achieving your goals. Secondly takes that little lizard brain and tells it that food and water will be there too. Massively important.

It doesn't matter if you know how you're going to get there, just allow your dreams to be and you'll figure it out as you go.

3. It's Hard Work

That's the simple truth. If you aren't willing to put in the work you won't be able to make your body look the way you want it to look OR feel the way you want to feel. I don't care who you are, working out should ALWAYS be hard.

No matter how many sets you put in of anything, squats, burpees, hell even biceps curls, you should be pushing HARD. The main weight lifting mistake most women make is that they don't push when they lift weights. To get that flat, sexy stomach that you want it's not about doing 8,000,000 crunches or spending 19 hours on the treadmill.

Take the time to turn that mental switch today and do something BIG, do something the you know will make your life better.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kian_Ameli Take Massive Action today, or don't expect to see the person you want to be staring back at you in the mirror.

Obey the 2 Simple Rules of Calorie Shifting and Lose Weight Fast

Calorie shifting is a simple solution to the big problem of how to lose weight fast. Traditional dieting methods have you cut out entire food groups or cut your calorie intake so low that you are put in the position of either enjoying life or being thin. These plans eliminate the suffering often associated with dieting because it has built-in days off. That's right, these days off are an important part of the success of the shifting diet plans, and as long as you obey the 2 simple rules, you will lose weight fast and never feel deprived.

The first rule of calorie shifting to obey is that you must mix up your calorie intake during the week. When you go on a diet and decide that you will eat 1,200 calories every day you likely experience some initial weight loss but this soon comes to an end because your body picks up on the lower number of calories coming in and resets your metabolism to only burn 1,200 calories a day. Without knowing it you just set yourself up for failure because you just slowed your metabolism and that means the day you go off your diet you will start gaining the weight back.

When you vary your calories throughout the day and vary your calorie amounts throughout the week, as taught in in these type of diet plans, your body gets confused. This is a good thing when your goal is to release those stubborn pounds because your body does not have time to reset your metabolism and therefore keeps burning body fat for fuel. The result is that week after week you lose weight without having to worry about hitting a plateau.

The second rule of calorie shifting is to eat the right foods. Now even though we know that rotating calories works, it doesn't mean you can eat junk food all day long or skip meals during the day and overeat at night. If you have a tremendous sweet tooth that has caused you to sabotage your diet in the past, then don't despair. Most calorie shifting diets progress in cycles meaning that you follow the diet for a set period and then schedule days off when you can enjoy sweets. This is done to keep your metabolism high. Still, you will want to eat lean protein, high-fiber carbohydrates and vegetables on your diet days, which work with your body and gives it what it needs to get the pounds off.

So the two simple rules of calorie shifting are to vary your calorie intake during the week and eat the right foods. These two rules provide you with the key to fast weight loss which is a fast fat-burning metabolism. If dieting has equaled frustration for you in the past, then you will find calorie shifting a very easy way to lose weight.

Do You Hate to Diet? - Calories Shifting Means More Freedom and Faster Weight Loss!

For many people dieting is a dreaded but necessary task yet although there is no denying that losing weight will require your focus, it does not have to be torture. Calories shifting is a method that achieves consistently fast weight loss results by showing you how to eat the right foods in the right patterns throughout the day. By following a simple shifting diet program, you keep your body confused and this prevents your body from adapting to your diet and slowing your fat loss.

What does calories shifting look like?

It literally means to shift your calorie intake, and this can be done throughout the day and over the course of a week or more. For instance, your body will process calories differently depending on your body's natural energy needs throughout the day; if you eat a carbohydrate in the morning this energy food will be processed fully and burned for energy however that same carbohydrate in the evening, when the body needs less energy, will be more likely to be stored as fat.

Calories shifting also can be done over the course of a few days to keep a dieter's metabolic rate peaked. It has been shown that the body will adapt to any diet changes in as little as a few days and the body adapts by slowing your fat-burning metabolism. To avoid this slow down you can use calories shifting. For instance, if you are practicing calories shifting during the week you would lower your calorie intake for three days and then eat more calories on day four, five and six.

Why are these shifting diets so popular?

One reason calories shifting diets are so popular is because they are effective. Because they are designed to keep the metabolism running strong a person can expect faster and more consistent weight loss with calories shifting. Another reason they are so widely accepted is because the diets run in cycles in which a person follows the diet for a set period and then goes off the diet for up to three days to recharge the metabolism. This makes sticking with one of these plans very easy to do.

If you hate to diet yet you really want to lose weight to get ready for a special event, feel better about yourself or improve your health then you will want to follow a calories shifting diet. You will mix diet days with cheat days and by doing this you will keep your fat-burning metabolism high and keep from feeling deprived, which is the trap of so many traditional diet plans.

Calories Shifting - Lose More Weight by Simply Shifting the Pattern of Your Eating

You are struggling to lose weight because you are not eating in the right pattern. You are not overweight because you are a failure; it is because traditional diets set dieters up to fail. Calories shifting sets you and your body up for success and allows you to take days off your diet and lose even more weight.

These types of diet plans have many advantages over other diets. Think about what you are up against when you go on a low calorie diet. You must first give yourself a pep talk, telling yourself that you can do it, you can cut your calories in half and give up fast food and chocolate and then you brace yourself for misery. But the mental toughness is not the only problem dieters trying to follow a low calorie diet face, they must also deal with a slowing metabolism.

When your body is feed a diet consistently low in calories it rebels by slowing your metabolism making it harder and harder with every passing day to burn fat. Let me give you an example, if you typically eat a diet of 2,500 calories a day and then you decide to slash your calories in half your body will initially drop some weight however what you can't see is that your metabolism is also dropping. Your initial weight loss slows within a couple of weeks and if you want to continue losing you have to cut your calories even harder. This is no way to live and you are damaging your metabolism.

No wonder you haven't been able to lose weight, but what if there was a better way? What if you could lose weight and at the same time keep your metabolism charged up? What if you could have the foods you crave on a regular basis and actually accelerate your weight loss? Well, there is a better way and it is called calories shifting.

Calories shifting is a way of shifting the pattern of your eating so you mix lower calorie diet days with higher calorie days that boost your metabolism. With this rotation, you learn how to stay one step ahead of your body so it stays confused and never adapts to your diet. This prevents your metabolism from slowing down.

Calories shifting is simple to follow and involves shifting your diet in different ways. After much research into how hormones and metabolism affect weight loss, it has been found that your body starts to adapt to diet changes in as little as a few days. If you continue to follow the same diet day after day your body will adapt by slowing your metabolism to match your diet. This keeps your body confused and this keeps the scale dropping.

There are many calories shifting diet plans that you can follow and when you follow these calories shifting diets you will alter your pattern of eating by changing the number of calories you eat every few days and eat often during the day to keep your metabolic rate high.

How to Use Calorie Shifting to Speed Up Your Weight Loss

How to lose weight faster has been a challenging question that many dieters have asked and with good reason. Traditional low calorie diets work on the premise that if you eat less you will weigh less but this logic is flawed. When you cut your calories and eat less your body reads this as a threat to your survival and in response makes it harder for your body to burn fat and calories. Calories shifting diets take a different approach and they are not as focused on cutting calories as they are on rearranging the pattern of your eating so you use the calories you eat more efficiently and therefore help your body release fat faster.

How lowering your calorie intake slows down your weight loss?

If you understand how your body handles the calories you consume, it will make more sense why these shifting diet plans work. Let's say you typically eat a diet of 2,500 calories every day. If you suddenly reduce your calorie intake to 1,200 calories you will initially lose some weight but if you keep your calories low your body will adjust to this lower amount by slowing your metabolic rate. This not only slows your weight loss, but it also damages your metabolism and makes it nearly impossible to maintain the weight you lost.

How calories shifting speeds up your weight loss?

These plans do not focus on reducing your overall calorie intake every day, in fact, it varies your calorie intake on different days of the week and throughout the day so your body never has time to adapt. The advantage of this as far as your weight is concerned is this constant variation keeps your metabolic rate running at a very high level and because it is your metabolism that determines how fast your body will burn fat it becomes clear that these plans are a better way to speed up your weight loss.

How can you use calories shifting during the week?

The best way to be sure you are shifting the pounds correctly is to follow one of these calorie rotation plans that has already been developed and proven effective -- but you can practice this on your own. First you will want to take one to two weeks to track the number of calories you eat daily. This will give you a baseline for your shifting plan. Then for three days lower your calorie intake by 300 calories below this baseline and follow that up with three days of plus 300 calories. Now you will want to evaluate your results and then vary the number of calories for the next three days. This is more work and because calories shifting diet plans have been around for many years and refined you may wish simply to find an existing plan to follow.
